Giving a lonely cow a new lease on life.
Lonely Cow Wine
Lonely Cow Wine was born from a misheard piece of advice in New Zealand that sent a father and son on a wild goose chase. With a memorable name, a charming origin story, and a loyal following, Lonely Cow had plenty worth preserving. Our challenge was to bottle the spirit of curiosity and unexpected discovery for a new generation of wine drinkers.

The Problem
For a smaller producer like Lonely Cow, standing out on shelf meant finding the sweet spot between approachable and distinctive. We needed to preserve the playful spirit longtime customers loved while creating a more compelling presence for younger, design-conscious consumers.
The Story
While searching for a legendary New Zealand vineyard, a father and son were told by a local named Patti to look for the “Lone Nikau.” After a fruitless search, they returned to Patti and told him they didn’t see a lonely cow. He informed them that it was not a cow they should be looking for, but a single nikau (nee-cow) tree. This true story is what inspired the name. Just like their hunt for the vineyard, Lonely Cow Wine is unhurried, easy, and intentional.
